Litochoro
Litochoro is a holiday destination, situated 24 km south of Katerini and it’s one of the most picturesque towns in the land of Mt Olympus. Locals tend to call it “The Gate of the Greek Gods’ abode” as it is built on the slopes of Mount Olympus. In a unique way, It combines the sea with the mountain. The view from the town to the peaks of Olympus is magnificent, while the coast has a large number of tourist facilities and holiday villages that attract large volumes of visitors, both Greeks and foreigners throughout the year.

Some 1,700 different wild flower species are found in Olympus National Park, along with rare birds and many species of butterflies. In addition, Olympus’, waterfalls contribute to this stunning Greek landscape.

Mount Olympus is the highest mountain of Greece, its main summit of Mytikas 9or Pantheon) rising to an altitude of 2918 m. According to the Greek mythology Mount Olympus was the home of the 12 ancient Greek gods and goddesses, while in 1938 Mount Olympus was established as Greece’s first national park with ultimate goal the preservation of its naturan and cultural wealth. According to the Greek law, Mount Olympus National Park core covers an area of about 40,000 acres in which all kinds of exploitation are prohibited.

MArine time museum
The idea of creation of the Maritime Museum of Litohoro began in 1995 by the Association of Retired Naval of Litohoro, to rescue and preserve the Naval cultural heritage of Litohoro.
